180 Movie, holocaust and abortion

Wow, I just watched this short (33 minute) movie, "180," which parallels Hitler's holocaust with America's ongoing holocaust... abortion. It's raw, gritty, and really powerful. It exposes the same evil mindset that is happening now as the same one possessed by Hitler. Ray Comfort interviews real people on the street and asks them hard hitting questions. Instead of laughing it off, these people actually give honest answers.

What I also loved about this movie was the way Ray explains the reality of our lives as sinners. He does it in a way that is "real". Instead of passionately throwing out christian dogma at "sinners", he uses clear and sound arguments that no one can argue. Just the truth... we want God's justice, but do we really understand what that means?

I highly recommend this, I found it to be very interesting, and excellently executed.

Reverse Haunted House

Today my church did something very creative. They called it a series of hidden experiences. The actual title was, "Captivated: A Heart that Burns". A prophetic interactive experience using scripture, art, and decorations. I was intrigued by the concept and so my fiance and I scheduled a time slot to go check it out.

You've all heard of haunted houses. You enter into the dark house and are led around by a ghoulish stranger. Stick your fingers in this and feel the slimy eyeballs and brains... come see the dining table still splattered with blood where the family who once owned this mansion were all slaughtered where they sat... Well, if there is such a thing as a reverse haunted house, "Captivated" was it. There were things to touch, taste, smell, and hear.

We entered the church sanctuary which had been totally emptied of everything except for a giant lampstand in the center of the room, with the cross clothed in scarlet cloth behind it. The aim was to have all of the visitors senses captivated by the Holy Spirit. The sanctuary was my favourite part, although it was more or less a "waiting room" as they wanted to take only two people in at a time. The peace in there was tangible and the environment was ripe for worship.

We were led downstairs of the church, which contained seven tableau-like stations. Not the stations of the cross, but rather separate rooms decorated much like a set. Unlike a haunted house, the goal is not to give you a thrill, but rather the goal is that you would enter into a full-body experience of deeper understanding of scripture, and position yourself to be ministered to by the Holy Spirit.

These were the stations:
The Bride who makes herself ready;
The Waterfall where deep calls unto deep;
The Burning Bush;
The River of the Cross Flowing to the altar of God;
Gold Refined by the fire (Revelations);
The Throne with fiery wheels and the scrolls of the Ancient of Days (from Daniel);
and The 10 Virgins (5 Foolish, 5 Wise).

After the last "station" was the Tent of Meeting, a place for soaking and resting. This was my second favourite place to be. In this tent there was a pillow-y bed, an "ark of the covenant", a small table where my fiance and I took communion and signed a guestbook.


Another interesting station was The shining cross, with a river flowing from it to the stone altar of God, upon which burned a fire. In front of the altar we were shown that there was a heart made from stone. We took the stone into our hands, it was cold and hard. We then downloaded our own hearts into that stone heart, (this was done silently unto ourselves), releasing into it our disappointments, our shames, our hopes, our longings, our thankfulness and our praise. As we clasped the heart it warmed in our hands. When we were done we place it on the altar, offering our hearts to the Lord. Worship music played, heavenly aromas filled the air. This station moved me to tears.

Prophetic words were ministered to us in the Daniel station, which portrayed God's Holy throne atop flaming wheels, with a pillar of fire before it, where thousands of angels minister to Him always. It was surrounded by the ancient scrolls of the Ancient of Days, and the Scroll of the book of Life was also depicted here.

Just like a haunted house (at least the ones I used to go to put on by my elementary school...), we left with goodies: A gold-plated rock from the Revelation station ("Come, buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see." Rev. 318), and an oil lamp with two vials of extra oil from the 10 Virgins station.

I work at a very large supermarket, which currently has several aisles dedicated to Halloween crap. And I mean total garbage. Crappy polyester "costumes in a bag" for $30, dollar-store quality owls and crows whose black feathers barely cover the styrofoam underneath, skulls with glowing eyes, bloodied rubber arm stumps, plastic demon and monster masks, we even have fake chainsaws which whir, complete with blood splatters. Oh, and I can't forget my favourite of all, the shackled zombie prisoner, to hang on your door. He has a radar inside so whenever you walk by (which is often when you work there and have to clean the aisle every 2 hours) he is activated and cries out pleading with you to unchain him. "I won't hurt you, I promise! Pleeeeease, unchain me! They left me hear to die!!"

So why am I so stuck on this haunted house/Halloween thing? Because every time I walk down that aisle I get nauseous waves going through me as I see parents giddily taking their 2, 3, 4 year old children through the maze of total utter trash, all of it there for no other reason than to glorify darkness, death, and evil (and of course make money off it). Every time I walk this aisle a memory shoots to the forefront of my mind, one that still brings me conviction. It was several Halloweens ago, I was with my girlfriends for the annual Halloween parade on Commercial Drive in Vancouver.

We milled through the crowd of revelers pointing out costumes and mindlessly becoming one with the throng of thousands, I pushed back and ignored the nagging in my spirit that was reminding me that this night was a night of unspeakable atrocities, that dark forces are real and occult practices are not fun and games. Most people here could probably plead ignorance or disbelief, but I could not say the same for myself and I knew it. "Shush you!" I said, "I'm not doing anything wrong!".

We were distracted by the neon green Borat speedo when it happened. We bumped into a group of Christians who came down to the parade, not to participate in the reverie, though they looked like they were enjoying themselves, but to pray for people in the name of Jesus Christ. I instantly knew that's what I should have been doing. Bringing light to the darkness as we are called to do. So yeah, maybe I wasn't doing anything wrong. But what was I doing that was right? I wasn't hurting anyone, so who was I helping? No one, not even myself. For in the end, I will have to take accountability and there will be no excuses. How did I demonstrate the light? And what, what really, was my excuse?

So this is the thing about that Halloween aisle at work, and the peeled grape and spaghetti brains haunted houses, and the mob of costumed celebrators who don't even know what they are really celebrating. Proverbs 24:11-12 pretty much says it all:

"Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter. If you say, "But we knew nothing about this," does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who guards your life know it? Will he not repay each person according to what he has done?"

That Halloween aisle is the opposite of everything that I as a Christian propose to promote in this dark world. Philipians 4:8 leaves nothing to be misinterpreted about how we are to act in the face of unrelenting death culture. "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things." The previous verse reminds us of two benefits of obeying this command.

1) If we put this into practice we will feel God's peace which transcends understanding.
2) It guarantees the safety of our most precious possession... our hearts... will be guarded (Proverbs 4:23, "Above all else, guard your heart, for it determines the course of your life.")

Philipians 4:9, "And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Without getting into the environmental psychology of it, supposedly people love haunted houses because it is a safe place they can experience fear. Unfortunately this is done by exploiting peoples fears of death, darkness, and evil. The fear comes because as they focus on these things, the peace leaves them and their hearts are exposed to the darkness. But there is a good fear that requires no exploitation of hearts, and that is the Fear of the Lord. Awe at His goodness and love, his might and his wisdom.

This was the reason I appreciated the experience of Captivated, it cultivated the Fear of the Lord by focusing on whatever is good. As my future husband and I held the stone heart representing our own hearts as one we felt the weight of it, the texture of it, the temperature of it. It brought home to me the importance of my heart and it's safekeeping. Through this experience I have been reminded that it is so much more spine-tingling to immerse yourself in something that is totally pure and true. It can't compare to allowing yourself to meddle in the tepid pool of "not wrong, but not right".

Are there books in Heaven?



When we get to heaven, will we be floating on clouds in white robes while stroking harps and blowing bubbles? We will continue on learning in heaven? Will we study? Will we read? Will the desire for "higher knowledge" still be within us?




This is an excerpt from Intra Muros (also published as 'Into the Light', 'My Dream of Heaven', 'Within the Gates', 'Within Heaven's Gates', and 'Within the Walls') by Rebecca Ruter Springer. The book was published in 1898, so it is well over 100 years old, and Rebecca herself lived from 1932 - 1904. As she suffered a long and agonizing sickness, she felt "the close blending of the two lives" she was given an in-depth vision of heaven. She does not know if it was a dream or a visitation, she simply considers her book to be "an imperfect sketch of a most perfect vision".


Led around Heaven by her beloved brother-in-law, he introduced her to her new heavenly life, including the home he had eagerly prepared for her there. The following excerpt is part of the conversation she recorded having taken place in the library of her heavenly home, which she describes as "a glorious apartment - the walls lined from ceiling to floor with rare and costly books."

"My first sensation upon entering the room was genuine surprise at the sight of the books, and my first words were:


"Why, have we books in heaven?"


"Why not?" asked my brother. "What strange ideas we mortals have of the pleasures and duties of this blessed life! We seem to think that death of the body means an entire change to the soul. But that is not the case, by any means. We bring to this life the same tastes, the same desires, the same knowledge, we had before death. If these were not sufficiently pure and good to form a part of this [heavenly] life, then we ourselves may not enter.


What would be the use of our ofttimes long lives, given to the pursuit of certain worthy and legitimate knowledge, if at death it all counts as nothing and we begin this [new, heavenly] life on a wholly different line of thought and study? No, no; would that all could understand... that we are building for eternity during our earthly life!


The purer the thoughts, the nobler the ambitions, the loftier the aspirations, the higher the rank we take among the hosts of heaven. The more earnestly we follow the studies and duties in our [earthly] life of probation, the better fitted we shall be to carry them forward, on and on to completion and perfection here [in heaven]."


"But the books - who writes them? Are any of them books we knew and loved below [on earth]?"


"Undoubtedly, many of them. All, indeed, that in any way helped to elevate the human mind or immortal soul. Then, many of the rarest minds in the earth-life, upon entering on this higher [heavenly] life, gain such elevated and extended views of the subjects that have been with them lifelong studies, that, pursuing them with zest, they write out for the benefit of those less gifted, the higher, stronger views they have themselves acquired. Thus, they remain leaders and teachers in this rarer [heavenly] life, as they were while yet in the world.


Is it to be expected that the great soul who has so recently joined our ranks, whose 'Changed Life' and 'Pax Vobiscum' [author Henry Drummond] uplifted so many lives while on earth, should lay his pen aside, when his clear brain and great heart have read the mystery of the higher knowledge? Not so. When he has conned his lessons well, he will write them out for the benefit of others, less gifted, who must follow. Leaders there must always be, in this divine life, as in the former [earth] life - leaders and teachers in many varied lines of thought. But all this knowledge will come to you simply and naturally as you grow into the new [heavenly] life."

Aborted Baby Cells Used as a Research Base for Flavouring


Moral Outcry is the blog for the pro-life organization Bound4Life, which featured an article this morning revealing the fact that aborted baby cells are being used in the research and development of flavourings for several major food and beverage companies. Companies we probably use several products of per day, including Kraft, Nestle, and PepsiCo.

To clarify exactly what this means: Pepsi products do not contain aborted baby cells, however, PepsiCo partners, collaborates and funds the biotech company Senomyx, which uses aborted fetal cells in the research and development of artificial flavour enhancers. Pepsi funds this as well as pays royalties to Senomyx "which uses HEK-293 (human embryonic kidney cells) to produce flavor enhancers for Pepsi beverages."

When this news broke last spring ProLife groups called for a boycott of PepsiCo.

Often, people all but roll their eyes when they hear stories like this about anti-abortion groups boycotting this and making a lot of noise about that... sadly, even a lot of Christians would rater not be associated with "outrageous" statements, and even fear being perceived as being "intolerant". Does Christ tolerate it? Does God, after weaving a child together lovingly in the mothers womb, sit back and shrug when that child is ripped from the womb, aborted, and it's remains used to discover delicious alternatives to MSG and sugar? No, it angers God and in fact is forbidden in the bible (read Lev 18:21, Deu 12:31, Deu 18:10). Christ=Life. Romans 8:2, "because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death." If you have chosen to carry the name "Christian" you have chosen to be a follower of Life. You're a little Lifer.

Therefor, indignation is an appropriate and healthy response to discovering that somehow it's okay for a research company to use aborted remains of a child (the human embryonic cells are obtained from electively aborted embryos, meaning a woman has chosen to have an abortion "and one of the ways in which the remains of her baby was disposed included acquisition by Senomyx who then used parts of this baby for research into a flavor additive.")


I'll take a paragraph directly from the Moral Outcry blog as I think it is very well worded:


Pepsi, Kraft, Cadbury, Nestle, Frito-Lay, et. al. are not the antichrist, so don’t read my words wrong, but part of being a faithful witness for Jesus and standing for truth is being able to withstand what is called the spirit of the antichrist which I John 4:3 says is “already in the world.” That spirit is a precursor to the end of the age when the real antichrist will come and, though it’s become a fictionalized account for movies and something we don’t look at seriously, the power of the antichrist to cause the masses to worship him is the inability to buy and sell without his mark.


If we can’t lay down our Pepsi or Doritos now, what might it look like when our lives depend on it?

Within hours of our press release, Children of God for Life received notice from Campbell Soup that they have severed their ties with Senomyx. Stated Juli Mandel Sloves, Senior Manager of Nutrition & Wellness Communications at Campbell Soup Company,

"We are no longer in partnership with Senomyx. This fact was discussed during the Senomyx conference call with its investors earlier this month."


Unlike other companies that claimed they had no relationship with Senomyx, Campbell Soup had credibility. When they were contacted by US Mail letters prior to our press release, Campbell Soup noted that "the trust we have cultivated and developed over the years with our consumers is not worth compromising to cut costs or increase profit margins."

The Nephilim Agenda?

Well it’s been a few years now that God has really put this nephilim issue on my heart so I figure I might as well just go all out and share delicious nephilim stuff when I come across it.
It’s beginning to feel more and more important to get this information out there to Christians who aren’t aware. One of the first verses I remember memorizing way back in the beginning of high school bible class (… I went to a christian school) was Ephesians 6:12…
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

What did I think that meant, exactly? Back then I’m sure I believed that Satan lived in hell under the earths crust, so I wouldn’t have thought he’d be in the heavenly realms. And who did I think these “rulers” were, if not Satan and demons (who also would have lived under the earths crust)? I didn’t think they were fallen angels, because back then I didn’t think about fallen angels, and if by chance I did, I assumed that “fallen angels” was synonymous with “demons”. Of course now I know there is a difference, and that Satan isn’t restricted to the fiery pits. His dominion is the second heaven (aka “outer space”) and it says so right in the bible. So we shouldn’t be shocked when there are striking resemblances between so-called “alien encounters” and demonic activity. I believe they are one in the same.
This is who our struggle is against. Through the centuries they have been known by many pseudonyms and made their way into the fabric of folklore and mythology, but their agenda has not changed: to deceive mankind, just as the very first fallen angel did with the very first humans. At first, he deceived to win his kingdom. Then, they deceived in order to utterly corrupt the earth so the Lord would destroy it and no messiah would rise. And now, they deceive in preparation for the anti-Christ and his desired kingdom of corruption.
I have not read the book The Nephilim Agenda by Randy DeMain although I would love to get my hands on it! In these two episodes of XP TV the author discusses his revelations on the Nephilim agenda with Patricia King. It is very informative, especially if you are wondering if nephilim still roam the earth now, and if so, what do they look like? What is their purpose? How do we fight them? How will we be protected from them? How do we avoid fear?
And I love that they discuss the nephilim and their control of the media. In Christ we are victorious. Good stuff, people. Well worth your time!

The Meaning of the Plagues


In honor of the passover and Easter season (and because I watched The Prince of Egypt with my family last night), I am compelled to share a portion from the book exploring the purpose of the plagues sent upon Egypt. We knew God was making a point... but why exactly did he choose the plagues he chose? Why specifically blood, Frogs, Lice, Flies, Death of Livestock, Boils, Hail, Locusts, Darkness, and Death of firstborn? This article explains the symbolism of these choices, God's language of choice, and their significance, from the Egyptian point of view.

Plague 1: The Nile turns to blood.

The Egyptians saw the Nile River as the god who supplied the lifeblood of Egypt. Gods associated with Nile included Hapi, Hatmehyt, and Osiris, among others. The power of these gods was broken as Yahweh too control of the river, making the Nile a source of death instead of life.

Plague 2: Frogs.

Frogs were associated with the fertility goddess Heqt (or Heket), who had the body of a woman and the head of a frog. During the second plague, frogs became a curse for the Egyptians instead of deities to be worshiped. Just as it is unlawful for Hindus to ill cows or remove them from stores, so it was with the Egyptians in regard to frogs. The frogs went into every corner of every house, but because of their religious beliefs (false paradigms) the Egyptians were powerless to stop them.

Plague 3: Lice.

One of the chief Egyptian gods was Geb, god of the earth. Offerings were given to Geb to ensure the bounty of the soil. As you will recall, the lice were produced when Aaron struck the ground with his staff, thus producing lice from the dust (Exodus 8:16-17). Geb should have been able to defend his domain, but once again, God rendered yet another Egyptian god completely powerless.

One of the effects of the lice would have been that the Egyptian priests would be unable to serve their gods in their temples. The Egyptian priests would now be ceremonially unclean, and their gods would be proven powerless to intervene. At this point, the priests finally bucked, saying, "This is the finger of God" (Exodus 8:19).

Plague 4: Flies.

Scholars believe that the word often translated as "flies" in this passage actually means all kinds of different biting and stinging insects. Insects were also worshiped as gods in Egypt. Utachit was the god of flies, and Khepra was often shown as a scarab beetle. The Egyptians thought that worshiping the gods who controlled these insects would keep the insects from attacking them. But it didn't work out that way this time. In fact, this was the first time Pharaoh himself asked Moses to pray to Yahweh on his behalf (Exodus 8:28).

Plague 5: Death of livestock.

The Egyptians worshiped livestock just as Hindus today worship cattle and other animals. In fact, the Persians won a significant battle against the Egyptians by driving sacred animals in front of them. The Egyptians would not fight for fear of harming the sacred animals, so the Persians were able to wipe them out. By killing the animals in this fashion, God demonstrated that he was greater than these domesticated gods. Two of the Egyptian gods decimated by this plague were Hathor, the cow-headed god that protected cattle herds, and Apis, the bull god.

Plague 6: Boils.

With this plague, God instructed Moses to scatter ashes toward the heavens (Exodus 9:8-10). This was God's declaration of war on the sky gods of Egypt: Horis, Shu, Isis, and Nut. It was also a custom of the Egyptian priests to scatter ashes from sacrifices as a sign of blessing. Moses was mimicking the priests, but his actions brought boils, not blessings. Exodus 9:11 specifically points out that the Egyptian priests were infected with boils and could not stand before Moses and Aaron. In other words, God made the Egyptian priests a public laughing stock. The people used to go to them for help, but now they were inflicted just like any common Egyptian or slave. Their cleansing rituals did nothing for them. In fact, they couldn't even get off the ground! On top of that they were once again banned from their own temples because of their physical uncleanness.

Plague 7: Thunder and hail.

Think of Egypt as a desert country that was fortunate enough to have a river running through it. Thus, rain, hail, and thunder were virtually unknown in the region. It must have been quite a shock to see fiery hail fall from the sky. Where were Nut, Horus, Shu, and Isis, the sky gods of Egypt, who were supposed to protect against such things? Exodus 9:31 tells us that the flax and barley crops in Egypt were wiped out. An Egyptian celebration was held at this time of year called the "coming out of Min." Min was the god who protected agriculture. But his party probably had to be canceled that year. At this point, even Pharaoh began to recognize the distinction between the gods of Egypt and the God of the Hebrews.

"I have sinned this time. Yahweh is righteous, and my people and I are wicked. Entreat the Lord, that there may be no more mighty thundering and hail, for it is enough" (Exodus 9:27-28a)

Plague 8: Locusts.

Locusts were pretty much a standard "judgment against sin" in the Old Testament. However, the Egyptians had found a way around locust infestations. They had a god named Serapia whose job was to keep them away. If the Egyptians worshiped this god, all would be fine. In addition to Serapia looking after the locusts, the god Nepri also looked after the grain. Anubis was guarding the fields, and Ermulet looked after crops. It looked like the Egyptians had their bases covered. But God proved them wrong. Exodus 10:4-6 says the locusts covered the face of the earth and even filled all of the Egyptians' houses. They destroyed everything, just as Yahweh had destroyed the gods who were supposed to keep the locusts at bay.

Plague 9: Darkness.

"Then the Lord said to Moses, 'Stretch out your hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, darkness which may even be felt'" (Exodus 10:21). One of Egypt's chief deities was the sun god Ra or Amon-Ra. The Egyptians believed that at night, Ra went through the underworld fighting his was through darkness and storm to re-emerge the next day. If Ra didn't return, that meant creation was over. By restricting the sun from shining for three days, God showed the Egyptians that Ra had nothing on him. I should point out that Pharaoh was considered to be Ra's son, meaning that when the darkness fell, Moses could brag to Pharaoh, "My dad is bigger than your dad!"

Plague 10: Death of firstborn.

This was the straw that broke the Egyptians used to pray for the protection of their firstborn children. They believed the gods protected these children supernaturally, because they would inherit the family wealth and name. Pharaoh even married his own sister to keep the bloodline pure. They believed the son produced from this union would also be part of "god's family" and divinely protected. Through this plague, Yahweh showed once and for all that he alone - not the Egyptians' false gods- had the power of life and death. It was on this day that the festival of the Passover was instituted.

This book truly helped change my own paradigm regarding prophetic events, dreams, and God's symbolic language evident in everyday life.
