The Heavens Opened

Angels Announcing the Birth of Christ to the Shepherds by Govert Teunisz Flinck, 1639
There's a book I've read several times that I love dearly. It's called The Heavens Opened by Anna Rountree. I have now read at least 10 books detailing the accounts of Believers having visited Heaven, and heard/watched countless testimonials. Whether or not you believe that a person can actually visit Heaven is quite frankly your own issue to sort out, and perhaps someday in the future I will post my reasons for believing so, but for the purposes of this particular post I'll make my disclaimer now: I fully believe we can and many do, and I friggin' LOVE reading about it. In fact... I think I've only read two books in the last few years that didn't have to do with Heaven - and they were both non-fiction books concerning the Nephilim and H.A.A.R.P. (and yes, I consider books about Heaven, Nephilim, and HAARP non-fiction). So yeah, there's few things that excite and fascinate me more than these kinds of testimonials.

Not that they should or could really be compared, but if I'm honest this book was by far the one that riveted me the most. Actually, Mary K. Baxter's account in her book A Divine Revelation of Heaven also blew me away (you can download a PDF, word doc, or audio file of her book here).
The reason these two books stand out so much is that they both give very vivid descriptions of everything... angels they encountered and their personalities/wardrobes/jobs. Buildings and places they entered or were granted permission to learn about, and the purpose they were being shown them for. These books all contain notes throughout to provide scriptural support.
When I first came across this book I was of course very eager to read it, but I didn't like that I could find little to no information on the author anywhere online. I wanted to do some research first to give some validity to the book, etc. One reason, I learned, that it was so difficult to find anything about her, is that Anna Rountree is a pen name. The book was actually written by her and her husband as the Lord granted him revelation to experience it as well. Another reason is that they have made a point not to put their faces out there to "promote" the book by association, as they feel that would only "muck up" the true intentions of the book. Fair enough, I figure.
Still, I was pleased when I discovered an archived Sid Roth radio interview with "Anna Rountree" on his broadcast Sid Roth's Messianic Vision. The authors genuineness and personality shone through and all the glory was given to God. Even her story before she has any visitations is an interesting one. I'll give you some tidbits to titalate you into listening to the whole interview. For starters, Anna was one of the writers for the movie Carrie. Yes, Carrie. When she became a christian and it began to dawn on her that maybe she shouldn't be perpetuating the macabre teenage trauma train, she had her name taken off of it. For the best, too, since the Lord told her one day who she would marry, and he happened to be a pastor. You can listen on YouTube here:

If you are interested in learning about: angel training schools and their inability to comprehend how or why humans don't believe in divine healing; the Storehouse where new body parts are stored; the Room of Tears; the corrupted strata of Satan and his palace; the throne of God; eating from the hand of God or flying over the earth on Jesus as a great white eagle then you may enjoy this book. The whole book has been recorded as an audio book and can be found as an mp3 here.

Supercool School

This is an idea which has intrigued me. You can create a class, and teach it via webcam to anyone in the world who is interested. You can join a class online for anything you could imagine. Supercool School is planning to do "what blogging did for publishing, but for the education space. Decentralize and democratize a whole industry by empowering everyone to create an online school with the simple click of a button."

It sounds fun and exciting to me, especially since I am one myself who has had to seek alternate but still valid forms of educating myself. Yeah, believe it or not, they don't teach ancient Hebraic dream interpretation in post-secondary schools. Heck, they don't even teach it at seminary schools (or bible college...). And trying to learn the spiritual impacts of visual arts is more of a teach-yourself situation. But if there enough people out there... using a tool like Supercool School offers could blow this thing wiiiiiide open.

Here is an introduction video explaining the basic concept:
[brightcove vid=73201830001&exp=980795693&w=486&h=412]

Some facts:

  • Supercool School is a highly purpose-driven startup that was founded by a team of underdogs from Europe and India to change the world using the amazing powers of learning
  • The first demand-based online learning place that empowers people to request classes, join them as students, or teach them using a simple webcam
  • Classes on anything from "How to start a business in China" to "Advanced Java" and "Thai Soup Recipes"

The only question I have is... is it free?

A Person's a Person No Matter How Small

The wise words of Horton in Horton Hears a Who. I'm copying and pasting a few paragraphs from an article entitled To the Black Church of America by Lou Engle (for those who don't know, the visionary and co-founder of 'The Call' solemn assemblies urging to end abortion). It compares the abortion crisis in many ways to the black slavery crisis that the United States had to deal with once, gives some urgent perspective on just how big the crisis is, and urges that if things could change once, they can change again. It gets quite into politics near the end, I'm assuming it was written just before the last US election, but nevertheless, potent.
The dark shadow of abortion stretches itself across the moral fabric of our nation. Since the landmark case Roe v. Wade in 1973, yearly the blood of up to 1.3 million babies has been spilled upon American soil. Undermining the basic foundational moral and societal cornerstones laid in both scripture and by our founding fathers, abortion strikes against the very life of our nation. A living, moving, feeling, and breathing child being abducted from the womb is not a “side-line” socio-political issue. We are talking about the murder of a child- a child who is just as “human” as the African American slave one hundred and fifty years ago working the cotton fields.

John Noonan, Professor of Law at the University of California says it this way, “Once or twice in a century an issue arises…So far reaching in its consequences and so deep in its foundations that it calls every person to take a stand.” In past times the forced removal of Native American Tribes from their homes was such an issue but very few took their stand. Slavery was such an issue, and the civil rights movement carried this kind of moral gravity. Undoubtedly there were many issues during the days prior to the Civil War that pressed upon the nation but God was bringing one issue to a divine apex. Based on whatever side you took in that day history now stands in judgment of you. And so it will be another forty years from now. History will stand in judgment of a nation that appallingly aborted its own children and assigned millions of her women to live lives plagued with shame, regret and devastated relationships.

This is not the end: the ready access to abortion now is fueling the worldwide proliferation of human sex trafficking in which women are kidnapped and forced to have sex with men 10-20 times a night. When these women become pregnant, they are then compelled to abort their children in order to remain economically useful. How is this for fruit of the feminist cause célèbre? We have ended up enslaving our own daughters! We are unleashing a sexual insanity into the earth in epic proportions and abortion is the atomic bomb that has cleared the way for the gradual destruction of our nation’s moral values. This is not just a social issue; this is the shedding of innocent blood. Blood affects the spiritual realm and fuels the demonization of a whole culture.

In the scriptures the shedding on innocent blood is the ultimate crime, a crime that God would not pardon. 2 Kings 24:4 records that God removed Judah out of his sight because of the sin of Manasseh, “because of the innocent blood that he had shed, for he had filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, which the Lord would not pardon.” Brothers and sisters, a great turn has been taking place in America on the ideology of Abortion. Movies are shouting adoption is a better answer than abortion. The movie Horton Hears A Who prophesies to millions that, “a person’s a person no matter how small.”
I can think of a few others off the top of my head too. The Blind Side,
Juno,
and Despicable Me...
A group of young people who have been standing for four years in front of the Supreme Court pleading the cause of the unborn with LIFE tape over there mouths were given a dream. In the dream, they were going from court room to court room to court room which then lead to a long hallway and entered into a large court room and there God was preparing to bring His own court case against Roe v. Wade and in the dream the name of that court was Appomattox Court House. Appomattox is where God finished His court case against Dred Scott. Because Americas courts did not deal with slavery in its own halls of justice God took it to the Appomattox Court House where General Lee of the South surrendered to General Grant of the North. This was after 600,000 men’s blood was poured out on the battlefield of the Civil War as the full payment for the blood shed of slavery. Brothers and sisters, what will Appomattox Court House look like if America doesn’t deal with Roe v. Wade in her own courts.

The King Was the People

I love how Matisyahu describes a real king, such as David or Solomon, in his song "Refuge", from the album Live at Stubb’s. Although he is Jewish and doesn't believe Jesus is the real King, my heart tingles everytime I hear this so I had to post it. I think a lot of people misunderstand Jesus and his claims to be King, and maybe a lot of people don't like the thought of a king, because they don't understand how a real king acts.

"At that time, we had a real understanding of a king, you know. For us, we don’t know so much what’s a kingdom or a king. We live in a world of fragmentation, where the majority of the people don’t appreciate or care about so much about the person that’s running things. At that time, the king was the people. The king was the people, meaning that all the people were a part of the king. The king loved the people with his whole heart. He would do anything for them. He was not just a politician, but he was a warrior... a general on the front lines. He would die for his people. He was a singer, a writer, a poet, all of these different things… a real person."

I really think a lot of the Majesty of Jesus is hard for people to grasp sometimes, or at least difficult for them to comprehend unless you are familiar with Old Testament bible stories... because they just don't make kings like they used to.

The Truth About Milk

Don't swallow everything Hollywood pours you. "What makes for good history doesn't always lend itself to good theatre," so always check the ingredients....

I've extracted this article from K-House eNews (October 13, 2009)

May 22 has officially become "Harvey Milk Day" in California. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signed a bill Sunday to honor the state's first openly gay politician elected to office by having California school children annually celebrate the man's birthday. Milk is only the 2nd person in The Golden State, after naturalist John Muir, to get a day dedicated to his honor.

Tens of thousands of people from both sides of the issue contacted the governor's staff regarding this controversial bill. Conservative groups had rallied without success to persuade the governor to veto the bill as he did last year. New attention drawn to Harvey Milk by the Oscar-winning movie and plenty of pressure from GLTB activist groups apparently changed Schwarzenegger's mind, however.

Harvey Milk Day will not be a state holiday; banks will be open and the kids will still have to go to school. In their classrooms on that day, according to the new law, teachers will offer lessons "remembering the life of Harvey Milk, recognizing his accomplishments and familiarizing pupils with the contributions he made to this state." In other words, Harvey Milk's homosexual activism gets to be celebrated by an entire day set up in his honor, (while thousands of other historically significant Californians are comparatively ignored).

Geoff Kors, executive director of the huge gay-rights organization Equality California, has said his group would develop curriculum for schools and teachers to use on Milk's birthday.

Sen. Mark Leno, D-San Francisco, who authored the legislation, said, "This will go a long way to better inform Californians as to the nature of the civil rights struggle in the LGBT community."

Randy Thomasson, president of Campaign for Children and Families, was not so jubilant. "Under SB 572, schoolchildren could perform mock gay weddings, have cross-dressing contests, and have gay-pride parades right on campus. Why? Because 'Harvey Milk Gay Day' pressures schools to make children honor and support anything and everything that Milk believed in. The sky is the limit. And there's no parental consent in the bill."

No Hero For Children
Regardless of what Californians may or may not believe about GLTB rights, Harvey Milk was a painfully poor person to teach unsuspecting school kids to honor. The real Harvey Milk was a guy with a bad temper, who freely had sex with teenagers and, according to his biographer, "had a penchant for young waifs with substance abuse problems." The movie about Harvey Milk also conveniently leaves out the fact that Milk was a big supporter of Jim Jones – that same Jim Jones, leader of Peoples Temple, who led over 900 people to their poisoned Kool-Aid deaths in Guyana merely nine days before Milk was slain.

According to Daniel J Flynn in City Journal:

"Milk occasionally spoke at Jones's San Francisco–based headquarters, promoted Jones through his newspaper columns, and defended the Peoples Temple from its growing legion of critics. Jones provided conscripted 'volunteers' for Milk's campaigns to distribute leaflets by the tens of thousands. Milk returned the favor by abusing his position of public trust on behalf of Jones's criminal endeavors."

Milk also willingly used deceit to move himself forward politically. In his last campaign, Milk's camera store was bombed with low-grade explosives. Milk blamed the bombing on his political enemies, but biographer Randy Shilts notes that, "Years later friends hinted broadly that Harvey had more than a little foreknowledge that the explosions would happen." That is, the bombs were a set up. "You gotta realize the campaign was sort of going slow, and, well . . ." one friend told Shilts.

It is also relevant to note that Milk was not shot to death because he was gay. He was not a martyr for the gay rights cause. Milk was shot because he was in the wrong place at the wrong time moments after Dan White shot Mayor George Moscone. In fact, White's own campaign manager was homosexual and White had donated money to support gay rights.

Yet, Sean Penn's Oscar-winning performance has done its job, whether or not that performance truly represented history at all. Harvey Milk Day has been signed into existence, and parents and teachers have a rough job ahead of them. If Harvey Milk is to be commemorated, perhaps the full truth about him should be told. If that's not what was intended, then perhaps the governor should be more picky in signing bills to honor any one man.

God's Cricket Chorus

It’s amazing how God has created nature. An engineer mathematically slowed down the sound of crickets chirping at night. He slowed the sound to emulate what the sound would be like if it were extended through the lifetime of a human. Listen to the beautiful angelic sounds.

This unusual recording contains two tracks:
1. The natural sound of crickets chirping
2. The sound of the crickets slowed down to match and mirror the length of the average lifespan of a human being.

The angelic chorus you hear accompanying the sound of the crickets is NOT a synthesizer or a chorus singing. It's the crickets themselves (slowed down) creating the effect. Really an amazing thing they've accomplished here. This recording can be played continuously in the background to create a natural soothing atmosphere for calming and healing.
